Margharita Lundkvist-Houndoumadi, the Master’s degree student from Aarhus University, Denmark and the visiting fellow of CBSR,  gave a seminar on December 10, on Wednesday at 14:00 in the room 101 at the University of Georgia. The topic of the seminar was - “Fieldwork Reflections: Doing Fieldwork in Georgia on Women’s Migration”

It was attened by the students of the School of Humanities and staff members of CBSR.

Irakli Pipia, short term scholar student at Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, gave a seminar on 3rd of December, Wednesday at 14:00 in the room 101 at the University of Georgia. The topic of the seminar was – “Idea of Museum and Ways of Funding.”

 

The seminar was attended by the students of the School of Humanities at the University of Georgia and by staff of CBSR.

Gia Murgulia, the principal of the 24th public school and the head of the Union of Georgian Partner Schools and Teachers, gave a seminar on 26th of November, Wednesday at 14:00 in the room 101 at the University of Georgia.  The topic of the seminar was - “Who does the Modern Georgian School Raise Up?”

It was attended by other Principals and teachers of Georgian schools and the students of the school of Humanities at the University of Georgia.

     Dr. Janette Davies  gave two seminars at the University of Georgia. First seminar was held on 24th of September, 2008 and the topic was  Ageing and its Discontents”Elders and their Families in Crisis. Second seminar was held on 1st of October, 2008 on the topic - Death and Dying with Dignity.

     Seminars were attended by the students of the School of Humanities at the University of Georgia, CBSR staff members, the director of the Centre of Cultural Anthropology at Ilia Chavchavadze State University Prof. N. Abakelia, master’s degree student from the University of Arhus, Denmark. Attendants found the seminars very interesting.
