On September 28, 2009 at the University of Georgia Tamta Khalvashi, OSI/FCO Chevening Research Student at the University of Oxford conducted a public seminar on the topic:

We Explored Georgians Other than Us’: Invention of a Construct of ‘Georgianness’ in Turkey through Imagining Counterparts beyond the Border.’

It was attended by CBSR staff and the centre members, students of the School of Humanities at the University of Georgia and others. The seminar was followed by an interesting discussion on the material.

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

On September 17, 2009 at the University of Georgia Andrea Weiss, Marie Curie Social Anthropology Fellow and PhD Candidate at the Central European University in Budapest, conducted a public seminar on the topic:

‘Economy of favours’: Field notes from Samegrelo.’

It was attended by CBSR staff and the centre members, students of the School of Humanities and teachers from the University of Georgia and many others. The seminar was followed by a discussion on the above mentioned topic.
