Tamaz Beradze

Tamaz Beradze obtained his first degrees in 1955-60 years as a historian and a teacher of history from Tbilisi State University. He became a doctor of Sciences in 1987 and his research was seafaring and maritime trade in the middle ages of Georgia. He was the first scientific  who researched seafaring of Georgia in antiquity and middle ages, restored old Georgian maritime terminology and researched maritime trade in middle ages of Georgia. He is the specialist of middle ages, historical-geography and a local lore of Georgia. Currently he is the head of advanced research at the University of Georgia as well as a professor at the same university, also a full-time professor at Georgian Technical University and the head of scientific committee at the Institute of History and Ethnology.
